Home > Fused's Random Articles - Reggie Fils-Aime: Master of Purple Pikmin
The president of Nintendo of America, Reggie, is a special sort of man. He's a guy I would trust with my children (If I had any), and even with my life. Captain Olimar and his assistant, Louie, need this sort of person, but in Pikmin form. They need someone they can trust to follow them around without question, and what form is more fitting for our glorious president than that of the purple pikmin. Hit the jump to see me elaborate on these statements.
During E3 this year, Pikmin 3 was revealed to be released with the WiiU. Miyamoto had fun revealing it and placing Pikmin on people's heads and shoulders, and this was by far my favorite part of the whole presentation, but one statement really stuck with me. I will never forget this statement.
After Miyamoto exited the stage, our glorious president Reggie entered the stage amidst the cheers and lamentations of his loyal servants, Nintendo fans across the world. His first entering comment is what we'll be focusing on in this article.
“I feel like a purple pikmin.†-Reggie Fils-Aime
Immediately as he stated this, I was filled with shock, and even more, excitement. This was a hint at something big, disguised by Reggie's bad habit of making a meme of himself. This something is influential not only to Nintendo fans, but also people across the world. This something will help humanity to reach the future, a future where children grow in peace on other planets and serene fields of flowers where nature can flourish without tampering are present in great number. Here is my view on what that something is, taken from that one statement by our glorious president.
Reggie is going allow himself and one extremely lucky woman to be engineered into the first Pikmin of the world . These Pikmin will do work for humans, as well as serve them like robot butlers. The lack of a requirement for labor will allow humanity to focus on reaching towards the stars and towards other planets. Science will boom as Reggie and the Pikmin grow food and manufacture items for humanity and its newly found alien allies.
Great spaceships will explore the universe and report back with findings of mineral rich planets where Pikmin will immediately start mining, or of planets filled with life where humans can settle and prosper. The presence of the Pikmin, considered adorable by all species (Even non-humans), will stop wars from occurring, and pave the way for peaceful civilization to spread across all worlds.
Probably the best part of this is that both Pikmins and humans are happy with this arrangement. The Pikmin are not slaves, they take pride in their work and would work whether or not we forced them to. Just like the Pikmin willingly broke down bridges and gates for Olimar and Louie, so too would the Pikmin of this future do tasks for the humans. The Pikmin are not happy without work to do, and this future would be like heaven to them.
All of this caused by Reggie's selfless desire to sacrifice his human form for the benefit of all beings. What an amazing man. His actions will spread peace and civilization across the galaxy and beyond, and you can look forward to this because of his one hint at E3 this year. “I feel like a purple Pikminâ€. You can see how excited he is for his future as one of the first Pikmin, and how he already feels like one while he dons his purple shirt and fashionable sports jacket, confident smile on his face.
The rest of E3 this year was focused around distracting the viewers with 3rd party games to enrage them over the lack of Metroid and Zelda. How silly we'll feel when President Obama, or a representative from the United Nations, stands before us and tells us of our glorious future from a podium manufactured by red Pikmin. The transformation is already happening as we speak, and we're busy obsessing over whether or not Miyamoto is creating a Zelda game. When the Pikmin do all of our day-to-day tasks for us, we'll have all the time in the world to create video games such as Zelda or Mario.
I hope this makes you feel better about E3 this year, and hopefully you feel a little bit more thankful for Reggie, the man with the self-sacrifice and willpower to become the first of the Pikmin.
I am grateful for the opportunity to share such a future with you and your family. Thank you for reading.
