It seems as though the 3DS version is beings slightly delayed from it's summer release. Super Smash Bros for 3DS releases October 3, 2014. The Wii U version is getting a holiday 2014 release. Lady Palutena has also been confirmed for both versions. You can see Lady's Palutena's announcement trailer
