Producer Talks Scrapped Metroid Movie Project

Home > Producer Talks Scrapped Metroid Movie Project
First discussed in 2004, a Metroid movie was planned with John Woo directing. Nintendo were originally supportive of the idea, however, they were still cautious of recreating what I consider Nintendo's worst ever decision, The Super Mario Bros. movie. Brad Foxhoven, former producer of the Metroid movie, said that Nintendo's caution caused a lack of collaboration. This lack of collaboration ultimately led to the project's downfall. Would you like a Metroid movie made? If so, should it be based on pre-existing games or an entirely new story altogether?
