Lost Your Nintendo 3DS and eShop Downloads? No worries…

Home > Lost Your Nintendo 3DS and eShop Downloads? No worries!

Have you ever lost your 3DS or perhaps it has even been stolen? Well, you are in luck because Nintendo of America wants to help you recover all of your lost eShop downloads. Recently I lost my 3DS and was unable to find it for several days. I looked all over and asked all of my friends to no avail, so I e-mailed Nintendo about the possibility of getting my eShop account transferred to a new 3DS. They took a day or so to respond and told me the following:

Hello, Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry to hear that your Nintendo 3DS is missing. We can help you transfer your data to a new system. Normally I would refer you to our website, however, the Nintendo 3DS data transfer issue you inquired about can only be addressed by speaking with you directly. We will need to verify some information in order to assist you, and due to that information's sensitive nature - we cannot do so through email. Therefore, once you have a new system - we ask that you please give us a call. At your earliest convenience, please contact our Consumer Service Department by calling 1-800-255-3700 any time between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time, seven days a week. In order to speed things along, make sure to have your system with you when you call. Sincerely, Nintendo of America Inc.

Even though I eventually managed to find my lost 3DS - Nintendo of America did respond to me favorly, asking me to call them in order to switch my eShop account to another 3DS. One thing to note is that I have a linked Club Nintendo account and my serial number is saved on it. I included both when I e-mailed Nintendo of America's customer support. So have you lost your 3DS? Well, you just may be in luck! They even offered to transfer my 3DS Ambassador status!

I had the same experience as the author, but I'm in NoA territory as well.

NOA seems to be a lot more benevolent than their european counterpart.. When I told them I had lost my 3DS with my Ambassador games and - most notably - the Four Swords Anniversary Edition that was only available here once, they wanted me to send in both, my new 3DS and (funnily enough...) my old, lost 3DS........ Well, back when I lost my old 3DS, there were no Nintendo Networl ID's, but still.. Two great Zelda games lost for me.. forever, as it seems... :(
