Chapter One - All Aboard!

As soon as you’re finished watching the opening cinematic and enter your name, you’ll be shown the game’s prologue.  After that’s done playing, a cut-scene will play, which shows your roommate Niko telling the story.  However, Link’s desire for sleep seems to anger him.  Your mentor, Alfonzo walks in reminding you that today is the day you get your Engineer Certificate from Princess Zelda.  Go ahead and walk outside. Once you’re outside, you’ll see you’re in Aboda Village, Link’s hometown in this game.  Walk over to the house on the east side of the village.  Talk to the little girl and help her out.  Talk to her once again and she’ll give you a Red Rupee, worth 20 rupees. Walk over to the little kid standing by the tree.  Roll into the tree and hurry to jump into the water, avoiding the bees if you can.  Talk to him again to get a Treasure. Follow the stone path until you reach the train station, where Alfonzo is waiting for you.  Hop on the train and prepare for your final engineer exam, the game’s tutorial for driving the train.  Remember to blow the whistle to scare away the Moinks.  At the forks, you’ll turn right, left, right, keep going straight, and then stop at the train stop. When you reach Castle Town, you’ll be shown a short overview of the town.  Head straight toward the castle.  You’ll be stopped by the red mailbox, and a cut-scene will take place where the Postman will introduce himself and give you a letter.  Open up your menu and read it if you’d like, it’s not very important.  Continue on into the castle.  Speak to the guard on the left to get inside. Walk straight ahead and talk to the guard there.  The guard’s lecture is cut short by Chancellor Cole, who tells you to follow him.  From there, you’ll go into a cut-scene where Link meets Princess Zelda and receives his Engineer’s Certificate.  After the ceremony, she secretly gives you a letter.  Open it up and read it.  She wants you to sneak into her room.  Go back outside the Throne Room and go up the staircase on the right.  Be sure not to be seen as you walk along the skinny path on the edge of the castle.  Walk inside. Head up the stairs into Princess Zelda’s room.  There, she tells you of her troubles.  She gives you the Recruit Uniform, aka the Green Tunic worn in every single Zelda game.  She wants you to sneak her out of the castle and get her to the Tower of Spirits.  Agree, and then leave the room. Control Zelda so that she moves while you distract the guards.  Be sure to put her in a position where she won’t be found while you’re moving to the next guard.  Once you’re outside, hop down and talk to the first guard you see, making sure you make him turn so that he doesn’t face the way you want Zelda to walk.  Switch to Zelda and draw a path so she goes away from the guard. For the next guard, stand in between him and the bush.  Talk to him then walk Zelda over to behind the shrub.  For the next guard, you have to get some of those rocks and throw them towards the castle entrance.  When the guard runs over there, that’s when you have to walk Zelda to the exit of the castle.  Return to her side and enter Castle Town.  Once you get to the Train Station, Alfonzo will greet both of you and agree to Zelda’s plan. Once you leave, a fairly long cut-scene will take place where the Tower of Spirits will split into 5 sections.  Chancellor Cole and a man wearing a mask named Byrne will attack you.  Alfonzo manages to hold of Byrne for a while, but it is no use.  After this, Link hurries in front of Zelda to protect her from Byrne, however, he easily knocks Link to the side.  Zelda’s now defenseless as Cole murders her, separating her spirit from her body.  Link wakes up to see Zelda’s shell being carried away, but is too weak to come to the rescue. When you come to, you are resting in the castle.  You must go look for Zelda!  Leave the room after talking to Teacher, then follow Zelda’s spirit to her room.  There, another cut-scene will take place where Zelda gives you the Spirit Flute.  From here on out, Zelda is your companion.  She tells you there is a secret entrance to the Tower of Spirits.  Exit her room and open the Treasure Chest in the southwest corner of the room.  Leave through the western exit of the second floor and open another Treasure Chest.  Then, head down the downward staircase and talk to the guard.  He tells you that you’ll need a sword.  Return to the first floor where you first entered the castle on your first visit. Visit the room in the top-right corner of the floor and speak to the Guard Captain.  He gives you a sword.  After completing the sword tutorial, return to the door where the guard blocked your path.  Talk to him and exit the castle.  Help the guard outside from monsters with your new sword.  Head up to the top of the area and bomb the wall to find the secret tunnel leading to the Tower of Spirits. If you’re worried about getting hurt inside, return to the Castle Town Shop and purchase a shield for 80 rupees.  If you don’t have enough, chop down grass and open treasure chests to get more rupees.  When you’re ready, return to the secret tunnel.  You can also pick up the shield at a later time if you’d like. Inside, defeat the Keese and ChuChus.  Pull the block onto the switch and open the Treasure Chest that is now available to you.  Use the Small Key to open the door.  There are a series of stone tablets giving you clues on how to hit some switches you’re about to encounter.  Bomb the stone blocks and open the treasure chest to get a Red Rupee. When you get to the switches, defeat the enemies and hit the switches in this order: Right, Top, Bottom, Left.  If you did this correctly, the door should unlock.  Head up the stairs.  On this floor, Zelda gets freaked out by some rats.  Push the block to cover the mouse hole and then defeat the mice.  Head out the door and enter the Tower of Spirits.
