Home > Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Releases on Switch December 7

The new Super Smash Bros. game now has an official name and release date, as well as tons of new info regarding characters, stages, and more. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Nintendo Switch will be bringing together every single character from every Smash Bros. game ever, as well as a few new faces too.

As Sakurai said in the digital presentation, "Every Super Smash Brothers fighter ever is in this game, whether they were originally DLC, or only appeared once in the past.”. From Ice Climbers and Snake, to Pokémon Trainer, Pichu, and even Young Link, every character is in to fight, making this the biggest Smash Bros. game ever. Old and new stages are in the game, as well as Splatoon’s Moray Towers, Battlefield, Green Hill Zone, New Pork City, and much, much more.

In addition to the previously announced Inkling, Ridley will also be making his playable debut in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the 65th character. Echo Fighters have also been introduced, which are characters that look similar, but have moves behave differently from each other. Examples of this include Lucina as Marth’s Echo Fighter, and Dark Pit as Pit’s Echo Fighters. Daisy was announced as Peach’s Echo Fighter, making Daisy playable for the first time in a Smash Bros. game.

Information was also provided on amiibo during the main presentation and in Nintendo Treehouse Live. All Super Smash Bros. amiibo will be compatible with the game, as well as all fighter’s current amiibo figure will be compatible, even if they are not in the Super Smash Bros. series of amiibo. Ridley and Inkling Super Smash Bros. amiibo were revealed and shown during Nintendo Treehouse Live, and a Daisy amiibo was also announced for the Smash Bros. line.
